Nick Malone

Nick Malone is an artist and poet living and working in London. His first book, The Burial of Crispin Pyke, with an introduction by William Empson, was published by Workshop Press in 1974. His second, Jason Smith’s Nocturnal Opera, was published by Cinnamon Press in 2008. His poem, ‘The Song of the Expelled Insects – A Thousand Tiny Needles Sewing the Air in Samplers of Song’, was a prizewinner in the 1979 National Poetry Competition. As an artist and writer his work frequently crosses art forms. He sees the non-physical world as authentically ‘real’, encouraging the eye to travel across and through an archaeology of marks, words and textures. His work has been shown extensively, both internationally and in London, including at the Royal Academy, the Dulwich Picture Gallery, the Bankside Gallery, the British Council Greece and the Venice Biennale.
