The Unsaid Words

by Eva Thomas

What about the crows that have hung their heads low?
Do you miss them?
How about the sound of the speeding cars passing you?
Can you still hear that?
Will you feel the slow burn of the fire?
Does it hurt?
Maybe you are happier.
Does it devoid you of pain?
Maybe you are sadder.
The pressure of the earth, does it weaken?
I selfishly hold you to me.
Can you feel my warmth?
Do you still remember me?
Or has it disappeared with your life?
I miss you.
