Robert Crawford is a Scottish poet, scholar and critic. He is Professor of English at the University of St Andrews. He was one of the ‘New Generation’ poets in 1994 and has twice won the Scottish Arts Council Book Award; in 1993 with Identifying Poets, and in 1999 for Spirit Machines. Four of his collections have been Poetry Book Society Recommendations and Full Volume was shortlisted for the 2008 T.S. Eliot Prize. In 2011 he was shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry. His latest poetry collection is Testament (Cape, 2014). He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and in 2011 he was elected a fellow of the British Academy.
