Julian Stannard is Reader in English and Creative Writing at the University of Winchester. His most recent collection is What were you thinking? (CB Editions, 2016), earlier collections include Rina’s War (Peterloo Poets, 2001); The Red Zone (Peterloo Poets, 2007); The Parrots of Villa Gruber Discover Lapis Lazuli (Salmon, 2011) and The Street of Perfect Love (Worple, 2014). Stannard’s work also appeared in the Faber anthology First Pressings (1998) and the Oxford Poets/Carcanet Anthology (2004). He has been nominated for both the Pushcart Prize for Poetry (USA) and a Forward Prize (UK). He writes for The Poetry Review, the Guardian, TLS, PN Review, Poetry London, and Nuova Corrente (Italy).
