Judy Brown

Judy Brown was born in Cheshire and studied English and American literature at Cambridge and Newcastle upon Tyne universities. She resumed writing after a thirteen year interval (which started in the early nineties following a move to Hong Kong) and ‘Loudness’, which won the Poetry Society’s Hamish Canham Prize in 2005, was the first of Judy’s new poems to be published. Her first collection, Loudness (Seren, 2011) was shortlisted for the Forward Felix Dennis Prize for Best First Collection and the Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize.
