Isabel Bermudez was born in Colombia and grew up in London. Educated at King’s College Cambridge and Salford University, she has worked as a documentary film-maker and a schoolteacher. She lived and worked in television in Colombo, Sri Lanka 1993-1995 and in Bogota, Colombia 1998-2001. She is currently a peripatetic tutor of French, Spanish and English. Her publications are Extranjeros (Flarestack Poets, 2015), Small Disturbances (Rockingham 2016) and Sanctuary (Rockingham 2018).
