Charles Sorley

Charles Hamilton Sorley was killed in action in October 1915 and his poetry was published posthumously in 1916. Some of his poetry was published in The Poetry Review in 1916, and a line from his poem ‘All the Hills and Vales Along’ was featured on a commemorative stamp in 2015, issued by Royal Mail. He is commemorated along with fifteen other poets of the Great War on a slate stone in Westminster Abbey’s Poets Corner.
