Postcard Poem about Wanderweg, Switzerland

by Sarah Lucas

The pool pulled through seven hollows scooped
in limestone, emptied in a single channel fluting
through a dark walled gorge. Green and clear,
the pool exhaled in glacier breath:
a chill was on the place.
We left the pool and in an hour came to a castle
sticking like a thumb out of the ground.
