Beehive

The honey of promises:
wings
(to an infant, to the elderly,
to the search for serendipity, to the idea of a home),
bars
(to a minor, to the convict,
to the mother of five, to the father of a gun),
flowers
(to valentines, to vases,
to the gravestones of the unknown, to the description of perfume),
diamonds
(to pieces of glass, to silver,
to the girl with simply cosmetics, to the priest with an eyelash for the newlyweds).
